HDMINI-X is a FPGA based converter to connect any LVDS display to an HDMI computer like RASPBERRY PI or any other ARM / x86 computer not having an LVDS port. HDMINI-X is therefore a HDMI to LVDS controller.
Low cost computers only provide HDMI output. The purpose of HDMINI-X is obvious here. There are other scenarios where HDMINI is needed : most cost-efficient Single board Computers have one LVDS port and one HDMI output. Only the most powerful single board computers offer two independent LVDS output. You need two displays but not the performance of those computers ? Keep the SBC, drive first display from LVDS port and the second one from HDMI port using HDMINI !
HDMINI-X currently supports resolutions up to FHD (1920x 1080). On top of that, HDMINI-X can drive both parallel RGB or LVDS LCD displays.
HDMINI-X embbeds flash memory to store images that it can display when there is no signal (example : startup logo). With a special firmware, HDMINI-X could also become a “slideshow” player
HDMINI-X embedds a RAM that is useful for image processing or special functions such as image cropping. This is useful when the source outputs a resolution higer than the native resolution of the display (some OS don’t accept too low resolutions)
Depending on your panel consumption, power HDMINI-X from either the USB port, the HDMI connector or the external power supply connector and just feed HDMI signal with your HDMI cable !
HDMINI-X includes an EPROM storing your EDID parameters. They can be adjusted by the USB port in order to match those data with the native resolution of your TFT display.
Unlike similar cheap products on the market, HDMINI-X was designed with industrial customers as target, not DIY market : it is not using unstable consumer components that constantly change. It is a truly stable industrial product with wide operating temperature range and long life cycle that make it perfect even for demanding markets.
HDMINI-X can easily be mechanically integrated thanks to 4 mounting holes.
Please note that this is an industrial product. We did not design HDMINI-X for the DIY market, so if your are an individual and can not afford NRE to customize the FW for a specific display, please consider the displays and adapters from your favorite Raspberry Pi accessories suppliers. HDMINI-X is a piece of hardware that runs a firmware. FW needs tuning and configuration for each display, so engineer time is involved to match HDMINI-X to it. This has a cost. Hello, yes it should be possible from the HDMI output with a custom video mode in the EDID. Hello, we want to built a demonstrator to test grafik content on a 800*480TFT display. The demonstrator will be directly connected to a standard PC via HDMI. Today it is planned to use either a TFT with RGB or LVDS interface. According to the description the HDMINI-X should be able to support this.
Will it be possible to realize this demonstrator with the HDMINI-X?
Are both interfaces supported at the same time?
