CAPACITIVE TOUCH SCREEN

Projected Capacitive touch panels became very popular with smartphones et tablets.

Basically, they operate with emitting electrodes generating an electromagnetic field and receiving electrodes detecting the electromagnetic changes. The change is converted to X/Y coordinates.

They offer a superior transparency (over 90%) and  a high longevity.

Since they are made of glass, they offer a great chemical resistance and resist easily to scratches.

For small sizes, the controller is built-in (on the FPC) and the interface is I2C.

For large sizes, the controller is a small PCB with a USB interface.

Custom design possible : ink printing, custom shape, high resistance cover glass etc…
