INFRARED TOUCH SCREEN

The infrared technology allows to easily touch any screen by adding a frame of a few millimeters thick.

This frame can be added on top in the case of finished screens or inserted between the TFT screen and its front face in the case of custom integrations.

Two of the 4 sides are equipped with infrared emitting diodes, the other two sides are equipped with infrared receiving diodes. When a finger or an object crosses these beams, the shadow is detected and the key position calculated.

The great advantage of this technology is that it is wear-free since it does not rely on a mechanical process. It allows the use of thick anti-vandal glasses between the screen and the infrared frame.

This technology does not modify the native optical performance of the screen. It is mainly used for large sizes because of the economy brought compared to other technologies.
